High quality Kaku obi made in Hakata (Kyushu, Japon). Kaku obi were traditionally offered to Shogun family since the Kamakura period as a tax payment (Kenjo)

The name of Kaku obi "Kenjo" means "offering" in Japanese (in the most respectful sense of the word).

The label HAKATA-ORI (weaving Hakata) can be put only on the packaging of Obi Obi manufactured in HAKATA (FUKUOKA) and registered with KHAKATA KOGYO KUMIAI (HAKATA Industrial Union).
HATAKAORI is a DENTO SEIHIN KOGYO (Japanese Traditional Craft product registered by the Japanese Minister of Culture).
